Trip to Kuching, 8-10 April 2005

I don't know why I purchased the tickets.

Errmm maybe I can't wait for Manila trip. Or, maybe I need to conquer new territory, Kuching. I have yet to visit Sarawak and Sabah in Malaysia.

Or isn't it because I suck big time at spending my money? LOL.

It will be 3 days trip, so I need to spend the time (and money, duh) wisely. Ok, next weekend, I should browse Internet for good tips on nice places to go. Ahhh, not to forget purchasing Manila maps at the Philippines Embassy. Remember this, No 1. Changkat Kia Peng.

One more week to go.

Trip to Manila, 2-8 May 2005

I went to Malaysia Airlines Travel Fair 2005 at the Mines, Seri Kembangan, which was held on 19 February 2005.

There were so many people attending the fair. Not only the 2 storeys parking complex of the hall which has the size of a football field for each storey, were full, the adjacent residential area’s were also full with visitors’ cars. The residence of the housing area might had cursed the fair for making them suffer getting out of the area.

Spent the whole afternoon at the fair with Matjed and bought no flight tickets. Just bought 2 tickets to Genting Outdoor Theme Park at RM20 per ticket, which is a good deal, almost 50% lower than the normal price. Both tickets are valid till October 2005.

Actually, none of my friends had any plan earlier to have a vacation. Not until 8:30 pm yesterday. My cellphone rang. It was a call from one of my colleagues. He suggested a vacation to either Maldives or Manila. Asked me, wanna go? Hell yeahh.., why not? I logged on to MAS website there and then to book the tickets online.

Maldives might not be a good choice as the place was recently hit by the Tsunami. So, we were left with Manila as the only destination. I tried to book tickets till late night, and finally got not 2, but 4 tickets to Manila for me and my friends at around 12:30 am. The price? Also 50% discount less than normal price.

So guys, yeeehaaaaa, I’ll be going to Manila this coming May :D

Trip to Jakarta, Indonesia, 3-6 March 2005

I won 3 free tickets to Jakarta, sometimes in January 2005. The free tickets were part of AirAsia.com promotion to their new flight destinations.

Jakarta is a wonderful place. It's much bigger than Kuala Lumpur in terms of size and population. Like other big cities, there are many huge shopping complexes, which, for me, comparable to KLCC or Time Square in Kuala Lumpur. Food is good, you could easily find halal food anywhere as it is the most populous Muslim country on earth. Traffic jam is a norm in Jakarta, you should avoid being on a vehicle during peak hours. I missed visiting Pulau Seribu, so could not comment on the beaches and islands.

Jakarta people are friendly. I don't know, but as soon as they notice that you're from Malaysia, you can expect warm smiles from them.

A picture paints a thousand words. I've created a dedicated blog for my travelling experience in Jakarta. And, I will upload photos to the blog, daily. You may browse the pictures at http://duangatjakarta.blogspot.com/

Happy surfing :-)

Trip to Pangkor Island, 1-2 March 2005

I went to Pangkor Island on Tuesday, 1 March 2005 with my colleagues. Actually we've been assigned to do a site survey from Ipoh to Lumut.

As we had reached Lumut, we took the opportunity to visit the island. I must say that the island has developed tremendously as compared to the last time I visited the island a few years back. The island has a lot to offer to the visitors, from clean-white sand beach to snorkelling to jungle trekking.

I've uploaded all the pictures in a dedicated blog at http://duangatpangkor.blogspot.com/ for your viewing pleasure.

Bismillah.. :-)

The time now is 1:00 am, and I feel the time is right as this is the first time I have a dedicated travelogue.

I've been to a number of nice places in Malaysia and also other countries. It's not many but I think it's good if I could share the memories in this special blog with others.

Happy viewing,

Cheers :-)
